Applications are being accepted by the College Place School District for the position of Assistant Principal- Davis Elementary School (Grades PreK-5) starting in the 2026-2027 school year. This assignment is being posted for internal and external consideration at this time. The position is open until filled. JOB PURPOSE:
Supporting The CP Way by creating exceptional outcomes Davis Elementary School students, staff, and the College Place Community.
CONTRACT AND BENEFITS:
Job Title: Assistant Principal-Davis Elementary School
Reports to: School Principal
FLSA Status: Exempt
Position: 8 hours per day, 260 days per year (exempt)
2026-2027 Salary: $126,338-$140,238, depending on experience. 2026-2027 Salary set to include state salary adjustments and remain competitive with similar positions.
Anticipated Start Date: July 1, 2026
Benefits: Medical/Dental/Vision, FSA/DCAP, Life/AD&D through SEBB (School Employee Benefits Board); and Retirement through DRS (Department of Retirement Systems) for eligible employees
Additional Benefits: Optional 403(b) retirement plan; Optional DCP (deferred compensation program) retirement plan; Goal bonus available; cell phone stipend; travel PD funds; membership to a professional organization; vacation buyback
Leave: 12 sick days (pro-rated for mid-year hires), 13 paid holidays, 25 vacation days, 5 bereavement days,
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Passionate about working with elementary-aged students and building positive relationships with kids, families, and staff
Dynamic, approachable, and engaging personality
Holds, or is eligible for, Washington State Principal or Administrator Certification
Experienced in elementary teaching, administration, and early learning programs
Knowledgeable in curriculum, instruction, professional learning communities, and school operations
Skilled in leadership, team building, and staff advocacy
Student-centered decision maker, willing to make difficult choices when necessary
Experienced with SEL, trauma-informed practices, behavior management, and special education
Committed to creating engaging, fun, and meaningful learning experiences
Eager to learn, adapt, and grow in response to new challenges
ADDITIONAL SKILLS:
Experienced elementary educator and/or administrator with proven leadership in school settings.
Energetic, approachable, and engaged in supporting students, staff, and families.
Collaborative, open-door leader who builds trust, fosters teamwork, and promotes a positive school culture.
Skilled communicator and problem solver, able to make thoughtful decisions and follow through effectively.
Culturally responsive, adaptable, and committed to staff development, student engagement, and a fun, supportive learning environment.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Foster a positive school culture that supports staff, students, families, and the community and promotes exceptional outcomes for the building and district.
Create and maintain a daily climate of teamwork, individual ownership, and collective growth among staff and students.
Assist in the daily operations of the school by listening to and supporting staff, engaging families, and working toward building goals.
Collaborate effectively with the principal and school staff to build strong, positive relationships and a supportive working environment.
Evaluate staff performance in accordance with District, State, and Federal guidelines and support professional growth through coaching, feedback, and positive communication.
Support hiring and retention of high-quality staff and provide appropriate supervision that encourages continuous professional development.
Ensure meaningful and equitable educational opportunities for all students, with particular attention to Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS).
Collaboratively plan, implement, and adjust curriculum to ensure alignment with district curriculum and Washington State Learning Standards.
Use multiple sources of data to monitor student learning, identify achievement gaps, and implement improvement strategies.
Maintain and promote a safe, orderly environment by following best practices and district safety protocols.
Adhere to all applicable District policies, state and federal laws, and administrative procedures, including documentation, record retention, and data privacy.
Contribute to team efforts and perform related duties as assigned by the superintendent of schools.
